. The objective of the Seberang Jaya Toastmasters Club is to help men and women learn the arts of speaking,listening and thinking - vital skills that enhance leadership potential, foster human understanding, thinking, promote self - actualization and to contribute to the betterment of our community.
Our mission is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
The purpose of this homepage is to keep members informed and to expand our membership network by promoting ourselves to the community ,catering the needs of the fast growing population of Perai, Butterworth, Bukit Mertajam, Seberang Perai and also Penang State. This homepage will be used as a platform for members to share ideas, coordinate the organization of events, be informed of the club's activities and for enquiries by interested parties.
Our activities mainly consists of meetings where members sharpen their public speaking and listening skills. There are also occasional speech and speech evaluation competitions, dinners and visits to other Toastmasters clubs in the region.
We have also included information about the recent 3rd Installation of our Executive Committee Members at Safira Country Club which is also the venue for our meetings.
Before my conclusion,I would also like to introduce our President Lim Poh Ann,CL (inset)a very versatile and experienced leader and her message for the club.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
In line with the new millennium and Information Age, the set up of the Seberang Jaya Toastmasters Club homepage is indeed something great and timely for our club which requires a much needed publicized image. Creating a homepage for our club will be a productive mean of providing fast and alternative source of information to our club members and also prospective members. I am indeed greatly honored to be the first President of Seberang Jaya Toastmasters club to go online. On behalf of the club, I would like to thank Philip Ng, Vice President Public Relations for his dedication in creating this homepage.
Telecommunication developments such as teleconferences, voice mail, e-mail,wap phones (wireless application protocol) and etc.is at an advance level, although then, it cannot diminish the significance of a face to face communication. Toastmasters training provides not only communication but also leadership tracks. The most important standard in my opinion is that club members work towards these two tracks. This is because these tracks are the most effective way for one to become a better speaker, gain self confidence or develop leadership skills. Most of us are diamond in the rough. Participation in Toastmasters not only help us cut through our rough edges also polish our imperfections and set us on the road to become a crown jewel. So are you moving along these tracks? If you have not,why don't you take time to achieve them for yourself this year?
'INSPIRED TO ASPIRE'the theme for the term 2000/2001 for the club. Let members of Seberang Jaya Toastmasters club be inspired to achieve CTM,CL, ATM , and DTM status and aspire to greater height not only personally but professionally. 'To Aspire' is what our current Exco resolute to be for Seberang Jaya Toastmasters Club, as every other club, the reduction in membership lies either in change of jobs, home, lifestyle or job commitment. Therefore the need to continuity in bringing new members is essential to build a stronger foundation for the club. New blood are require to provide fresh new ideas and personalities. Thus there will be more educational and communicational programs and more quality meetings interesting and funfilled so as to increase member satisfaction and attract new members.
Before I conclude, I would like to quote this: Ask not what your club can do for you; instead ask what you can do for your club. Play your roles actively and participate in all our club activities.
